Gleason Named to GRBJ’s Most Influential Women

January 10, 2020

Varnum attorney Linsey Gleason has been selected as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan for 2020, as recognized by Grand Rapids Business Journal. The biennial event celebrates West Michigan women who are making a difference in a variety of ways.

Gleason is a partner on Varnum’s Estate Planning team. Her practice includes full service estate plan preparation, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, guardianship and conservatorship services, elder law advice and special needs trusts.

In addition to her law practice, Gleason serves as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee and is active in several professional organizations. She is highly involved in the community through her service on the boards of the Grand Rapids Public Museum Foundation, Senior Neighbors, Inc. and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. She also serves on the campaign cabinet of Grand Rapids Whitewater, Inc.

The selection committee for the 50 Most Influential Women considered each nominee’s impact on the business community, leadership traits and community involvement. Gleason was selected from a record 248 nominees. She was nominated for the recognition by a friend and colleague in the financial industry.

“Linsey is a leader in her profession, always compassionate and considerate when helping articulate essential life decisions for her clients,” said Rachel Mraz, a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. “The mutual clients we have rave about the planning process, a process that can be incredibly daunting, that Linsey has lead them through.”

Gleason and the other honorees will be recognized at a luncheon event on March 4 at the JW Marriott International Ballroom. More information about the event and other honorees can be found at https://www.grbj.com/articles/95140-business-journal-selects-50-most-influential-women.
