Erin Buerger Gordon Joins Varnum Corporate Team
Varnum is pleased to announce that Erin Buerger Gordon has joined the firm’s Business and Corporate Services practice team. She is based in Varnum’s Grand Rapids office.
Gordon's practice spans a broad array of corporate areas in connection with capital markets transactions, including public and private debt offerings, exchange offers, tender offers, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate governance and public company representation.
In addition to capital markets matters, Gordon's experience includes advising clients on reporting and disclosure requirements including annual, quarterly, and current reports, proxy statements, stock exchange rules and regulations, bankruptcy and general corporate governance matters. She works with clients in a variety of industries, including energy, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, professional services and consumer goods.
As a law student, Gordon served as a legal extern for the Hon. Mark J. Dinsmore of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and as an intern in the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs for the U.S. Department of State.
Gordon, who previously served as a summer associate at Varnum, joins the firm from the Chicago office of a large international law firm. She is a cum laude graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she served as Executive Submissions Editor for the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business.
Prior to attending law school, Gordon served for several years in the Operations Graduate Development Program for Royal Dutch Shell in Houston, Texas, where she was responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating logistics and solving supply-related issues for all biofuels bought and sold on behalf of Shell Oil Company in the United States.
