Allen to Moderate Ethics Panel

October 19, 2012

Varnum attorney John W. Allen will moderate the Institute of Continuing Legal Education's (ICLE) November 1, 2012 seminar, "Ethics 2012: Meeting Today's Challenges."

The seminar provides the latest information on ethics-related issues and teaches attendees to protect themselves and their clients by taking action in response to current ethics opinions. Allen will be speaking on a panel discussing updates on recent MRPC developments and proposed amendments.

Allen is a business and commercial litigation attorney as well as a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate. With over 30 years of experience, Allen has written and co-written dozens of articles and books. In 2012, he was named as a Leader In the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite, invitation-only recognition of jury trial lawyers in the United States. Allen is the author of more than 60 papers and publications for bar journals, business publications, trade associations and even the occasional newspaper articles – nearly half of them are on ethics matters, a testament to his interest in the area.

ICLE was created in 1959 at the request of the Board of Commissioners of the State Bar of Michigan to meet the continuing education needs of the legal community.
