Varnum’s Director of Human Resources (HR), Dawn Stephenson, has joined the Hello West Michigan Board of Directors.
Hello West Michigan promotes the region as a great place to live and work by helping businesses attract top talent and supporting newcomers as they settle into the area. The organization provides resources, job opportunities, and community insights to make relocation a smooth and welcoming transition.
Stephenson is an experienced human resources professional who leads the firm’s HR operations with a focus on aligning people strategies with business goals. With a holistic approach, she oversees daily activities related to employee relations, staff recruitment, onboarding, training and development, and performance evaluations. Stephenson also plays a key role in budgeting and safety initiatives, working to create a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Beyond her role at Varnum, Stephenson is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and the Society for Human Resources Management. She is also certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and has served as a board member for the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center and the Harbor Humane Society. Additionally, she is a former United Way Campaign leader.
