Office Administrator/Legal Assistant
Varnum LLP has an immediate opening in our downtown Lansing office for a part-time office administrator/legal assistant, working 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are seeking an experienced, service-oriented professional with excellent administrative skills, high-quality standards and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
This position will involve a blend of strong administrative duties and legal support, including bank account maintenance, website oversight and marketing for a trade association, assistance with court filings, assistance with regulatory pleadings, direct client contact, offsite meeting set-up and attendance, maintenance of office supplies, errand duties and general office support/receptionist duties.
The ideal candidate will be a polished professional who is responsible, takes initiative, can multitask with ease and work well as part of a team. Flexibility and resourcefulness are essential attributes for this position, which will serve as a point person for two attorneys with varying schedules.
Other minimum, required skills include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Adobe (PDF)
- Ability to track time and billing
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of office procedures and legal terminology
- Solid organization skills and multitasking skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively
