A medical research institution desired to partner with a regional health care system to provide genetic and molecular diagnostic testing and patient evaluation.

Varnum helped form the joint venture and structured the terms of the shareholder agreement. In addition\, we helped define the sharing and ownership rules for the intellectual property generated as part of the joint venture. Varnum also advised regarding the multi-million dollar purchase of equipment to be used in the diagnostic testing and patient evaluation\, including strategic partnering with the equipment supplier regarding ongoing research and development.

We were able to work with all parties to the joint venture and enable a successful launch.
