Health Care Experience
Larry Burns is the chair of the Varnum's health care law practice, a multidisciplinary group within the firm serving clients in the health care industry. Larry works with a wide array of clients in the health care and life sciences industries including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, DME providers, behavioral health agencies, psychiatric facilities, numerous professional corporations and individual practitioners. He works with clients to develop innovative health care arrangements, including hospital-physician joint ventures and integrated delivery systems. He also counsels hospitals on staffing matters such as physician recruitment arrangements, medical staff bylaws review and the equitable use of credentialing criteria. Larry regularly counsels clients on significant compliance issues, including federal and state anti-fraud laws and the Stark laws.
