Litigation Experience
Real Estate and Riparian Rights
Much of Eric's practice concerns challenges faced by other riparian owners, including boundary disputes, quiet title actions, deed restrictions, adverse possession, land use and zoning matters, environmental issues, riparian rights, easements, road ends and access issues. Though not unique to riparians, waterfront property owners encounter these issues more than most. Eric's real estate practice also includes landlord/tenant law, construction lien and other construction law matters.
Family and Other Closely Held Business Disputes
Eric works with closely held businesses, including a number of family-owned businesses. Eric has significant experience litigating claims involving non-compete agreements, breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, trade secrets, conversion and the misappropriation of confidential business information.
Complex Commercial Litigation
Eric has represented individuals and businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, in a variety of contract, dealership, franchise and other business disputes. Many of those matters involve a tremendous volume of documents and electronically stored information. Eric is proficient in matters of e-discovery, including preservation and production protocols. In addition to taking dozens of cases through trial, Eric has handled appeals in both state and federal appellate courts.
