Varnum Names New Partners

Varnum is pleased to announce that several attorneys were recently voted into the partnership. The new partners include: John D. Arendshorst, Charles F. Gray, Timothy K. Kroninger, Zachary J. Meyer, Jill M. Miller, Eric R. Post and Wayne D. Roberts.

Arendshorst is an employee benefits attorney with significant experience in defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation, and corporate transactions. He is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and is based in Grand Rapids.
Gray is an intellectual property attorney with significant experience drafting and prosecuting patents in various fields, including the automotive and medical industries. He is also experienced in trademark prosecution, IP litigation, and drafting software, trademark and patent license agreements. Prior to his legal career, Gray was an electrical controls engineer at Herman Miller. He is based in Varnum's Novi office.
Kroninger has extensive experience in intellectual property and contract law as well as the areas of franchising, corporate, IP litigation and prosecution, and patent/technology/trademark licensing. Prior to joining Varnum, he served as chief legal counsel for an international corporate IP/trademark licensing firm representing numerous Fortune 500 companies. He also served as a senior attorney for a Big Three automaker prior to entering private practice. He is based in Varnum's Detroit office.
Meyer is a corporate attorney, focusing on corporate governance and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance, and advises clients in a wide variety of industries including health care, manufacturing and emerging technology. He is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and is based in Grand Rapids.
Miller is a corporate attorney who practices in the electronic payment card processing industry, including electronic payments and data privacy and security law. She also has unique experience in aviation law, advising clients on aircraft acquisitions, FAA filings, and International Registry requirements. She is based in the firm's Novi office.
Post is a corporate attorney advising startups, private and family-owned businesses and multinational companies in the automotive, manufacturing, technology, retail and health care industries. He is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law and is based in the Grand Rapids office.
Roberts is a tax attorney who has represented both closely-held and Fortune 1000 companies in tax disputes with the IRS, Michigan Department of Treasury and several other state and local taxing jurisdictions throughout Michigan and across the United States. He has served as Chair of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, has authored many articles and treatises on a variety of tax topics, and has been named Best Lawyers® "Tax Lawyer of the Year" on multiple occasions. Roberts currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Bar Tax Sections.
