Burns Appointed to MHA Legislative Policy Panel

Health care attorney Larry Burns was recently invited by the Michigan Health & Hospital Association to become a member of the Legislative Policy Panel Committee.
As a member of the Committee, Burns will review emerging health care legislation and recommend appropriate association response. Additionally the panel assumes a proactive role in identifying new legislative initiatives for the association to champion.
The Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) is a statewide leader representing all the community hospitals in Michigan. The MHA represents the interests of its member hospitals and health systems in both the legislative and regulatory arenas on key issues and supports their efforts to provide quality, cost-effective and accessible care.
Burns is the chair of Varnum's Health Care Practice Group and works with a wide array of clients in the health care and life science industries including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, DME providers, behavioral health agencies, psychiatric facilities, numerous professional corporations and individual practitioners. He also regularly counsels clients on significant compliance issues, including federal and state anti-fraud laws and the Stark laws.
