After the 1973 oil embargo, President Gerald R. Ford signed legislation that established the framework for the fi rst national energy policy and alternative energy research. Since Ford’s presidency, alternative energy development and energy issues have resurfaced as a major national and international issues. Thirty-four years later, Frank Zarb leads us on an exploration of various historical and current perspectives on U.S. energy policies.
