Experience

Tony is a partner in Varnum’s Grand Rapids office, where he focuses primarily on representing management in labor and employment matters. He regularly assists employers with their most challenging employment problems, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, and statutory compliance (Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, National Labor Relations Act). He also provides strategic advice regarding workforce reductions and the challenges of managing human resource matters during difficult economic times.

In addition, a significant portion of his practice is dedicated to defending employers in employment litigation matters across the country, including recent jury trials in Kansas, North Carolina, and Michigan.

He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Section as well as the Grand Rapids Bar Association Labor and Employment Section.

Tony serves on the Board of the Zeeland Public Schools Education Foundation.
