Experience

Terry is a trial attorney with a particular focus on real estate and hospitality industry issues. She also represents clients in environmental litigation cases. Terry concentrates her practice on representing developers and municipalities in land use and zoning litigation, representing municipalities in civil rights and other government litigation, and advising private sector clients on land use applications. She has represented clients in administrative tribunals, trial courts and appellate courts.

Professional Activities

Terry is an accomplished speaker on land use and zoning matters. She frequently presents seminars for the National Business Institute on land use regulation. She was a Faculty Member, Advanced Section, of the 2009 Hillman Advocacy Program for the U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan. Terry was also an Adjunct Professor at Cooley Law School, teaching Environmental Law, Trinity Term, in 2008.

Terry has presented seminars on development and land use law, zoning and Zoning Boards of Appeals, land division regulation, and legal and practical considerations of annexation.
