Diversity & Inclusion LSAT Prep Scholarship for Undergraduate Juniors
Varnum created its LSAT Preparation Course Scholarship to provide financial assistance and ensure adequate preparation of undergraduate students who desire to attend law school and who demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and/or their community. During 2010, Varnum will pay up to $1,500 each for the cost of two juniors to attend an LSAT Preparation course offered by Kaplan Test Prep and Admission.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
The scholarship is open to students in the junior year of undergraduate studies who endeavor to attend law school. Selection criteria include:
- Recipient is a junior level student currently attending an accredited Michigan college or university
- Academic achievement as reflected by a cumulative minimum 3.0 grade point average
- Recipient is a member of an ethnic or racial minority or demonstrates a significant commitment to issues of diversity
- and inclusion
- Finalists may be invited to interview with members of the firm
Application Requirements - Application Deadline: March 15, 2010
This is a competitive application process. All application materials must be complete and sent on or before the March 15, 2010 deadline. Please submit the following items with the Application form:
- A current official academic transcript
- Personal statement of goals addressing your interest in attending law school and interest or efforts to promote ethnic or racial diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and/or your community
